Allergy shots use repeated injections of the allergen to help you build a tolerance. This starts with a few injections a week and eventually drops down to just maintenance injections. As the first round of injections progresses, the amount of the allergen injected is increased. Over time, you will build a steady tolerance and find lasting relief from allergy symptoms.
