Dr. Johnigan feels that it is a privilege to care for patients. He has always been inspired by his grandfather, Richard H. Johnigan Sr., who played an instrumental role in bringing the first Shriner’s Burns Hospital to Galveston. Dr. Johnigan pursued his residency training at the University of Texas in Houston, where he trained at Memorial-Hermann Hospital, LBJ General Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Provider Biography

Dr. Johnigan was born in Houston, Texas. His father’s family is from Galveston, and his mother’s family is from Pasadena. Dr. Johnigan grew up all over the Gulf Coast. He lived in Clear Lake, Dallas, Gainesville, and Tampa.

He attended The University of Notre Dame in Indiana, where he received a bachelor of science in biology and had a second major in theology. He returned to Texas and completed medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he graduated with the highest honors.

Dr. Johnigan then pursued his residency training at the University of Texas in Houston, where he trained at Memorial-Hermann Hospital, LBJ General Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Dr. Johnigan and his wife reside in Pearland. His wife, Brie, cares for their four children, and she is very active in the Pearland community. They attend church at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Pearland. When Dr. Johnigan is not caring for patients, he enjoys cheering for his favorite sports teams – The Fightin’ Irish of Notre Dame and the Houston Rockets.
